KPCC asks: Which term best describes immigrants living in the U.S. illegally?

The Associated Press Stylebook and several newsrooms have dropped the term "illegal immigrant." On the AP website, a top editor clarified, "The Stylebook no longer sanctions the term 'illegal immigrant' or the use of 'illegal' to describe a person. Instead, it tells users that 'illegal' should describe only an action, such as living in or immigrating to a country illegally."

City Council Candidate Forum at Echo Park's Bedrock L.A. recording studio

     On April 18th,  the Bedrock. L.A  recording studio was an interesting venue for Los Angeles City Council District 13 candidate Mitch  O'Farrell and District 1 candidate Jose Gardea to state their positions to area residents before the upcoming May 21st election runoff.

KPCC: Finalists for LA City Council's 13th District get backing from former opponents

The two men hoping to succeed Councilman Eric Garcetti in the Thirteenth District are picking up support from their former opponents in the March 5 primary. 

Mitch O'Farrell, a former Garcetti aide, placed first in the primary with 18 percent of the vote. He was endorsed Monday by two former candidates — Sam Kbushyan and Josh Post. Kbushyan finished third in the race thanks to strong support from the district's Armenian community.
