Mohawk General Store moves to Silverlake and catches eye of New York Times.

Bo and Kevin Carney opened Mohawk General Store two years in Echo Park. They moved to a larger location in Sunset Junction over the summer and, on the pages of the New York Times, are name dropping the stars that frequent their store. "Hedi Slimane wandered in recently and picked up a pair of dining chairs, and indie god Michael Cera now writes at the most perfectly emo Dutch industrial school desk."

Bo, a friend of EchoParkOnline, told Steffie Nelson of the New York Times Now Shopping blog: “People know they can come in and look at a lot of different things. You don’t always want to go to a shoe store, but here you can come in to try on some shoes and leave with a side table."

One word: Franchise.
