WHAT: L.A. Works, Los Angeles’ volunteer center for community and corporate service, will lead a “Mentoring Through Murals” project that will bring expert muralists, civic leaders, corporate and community volunteers and students to honor civil rights leader César Chávez for his upcoming birthday, March 31. Students will learn about his life and work by creating community justice and human rights-themed murals.
The completed canvases will be donated to local libraries and schools for display, commemorating Chávez and his legacy.
Since 1991, L.A. Works has organized Southern California’s corporate volunteer power by providing more than 1 million hours of service to communities throughout Los Angeles. More information available at www.LAWorks.com
