New GoSolar.LA Website Offers Group Deals on Solar Energy

Open Neighborhoods announces a regional solar initiative and comparison shopping service for residential, commercial, tax exempt property owners and multi-family communities in greater Los Angeles seeking to reduce utility bills with solar energy.

GoSolar.LA
GoSolar.LA launches this week with a new website at www.GoSolar.LAproviding free services including information about solar rebates and incentives available throughout the region; an interactive LA County Solar Map; ratings and reviews of local solar contractors, equipment and financing options; and pre-negotiated solar bulk purchasing discounts resulting in significant savings for program participants.

PARTNERSHIPS WITH LEADING SOLAR COMPANIES

The GoSolar.LA program launches in partnership with environmental services provider Antea Group and local solar installers including REC Solar, PermaCity, Enfinity America Corporation, Solar Forward and SolarCon. Participating contractors specialize in a diverse range of installations for solar electricity and solar hot water heating systems — from small and custom residential to commercial, large industrial, tax exempt and multi-family properties.

Affordable financing options available through the GoSolar.LA program include low-interest loans, zero-down leases, power purchase agreements (PPA), and rooftop rental programs financed by industry leaders including SunRun, SunPower, Clean Power Finance, Perlight, Tioga Energy, Wells Fargo and PNC Bank.

LOWEST COST RESIDENTIAL SOLAR ACROSS STATE OF CALIFORNIA

Bulk purchasing discounts result in significant savings for GoSolar.LA participants. The Open Neighborhoods Community Solar program in LA County was recognizedin a recent Bay Area Smart Energy 2020 report for offering the lowest cost residential solar in the state of California.

The GoSolar.LA program sets a new bar in affordability with small residential systems now available starting at $4,160 per kilowatt (DC), small-scale commercial systems (>30kW) available at $3,850 per kilowatt, and large-scale industrial systems (>1MW) as low as $2,250 per kilowatt.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY SOLAR MAP

Utilizing the LA County Solar Map (GoSolar.LA/map), property owners are able to search for their property address, view a color-coded solar analysis of their rooftop, and download a free printable solar evaluation of their property.

Provided by the County of Los Angeles, the Solar Map uses satellite imagery and other data sources to instantly calculate roof size, area suitable for solar, size system you can install, amount of electricity that can be generated, dollar savings per year on electric bills, and your solarized roof's projected carbon emissions reductions.

ONLINE BIDDING AND SHOPPING COMPARISON

GoSolar.LA provides a solar marketplace for greater Los Angeles — with an innovative online bidding service allowing property owners to request a quote and receive a free consultation from the best qualified local solar installer for the project.

Participating contractors were selected in a competitive bidding process in which proposals were solicited and evaluated from a wide range of vendors — and vetted for contractor license certification, insurance coverage and customer references.

The GoSolar.LA website offers a unique comparison shopping experience for property owners to evaluate the various solar energy systems, contractors, and financing programs available through the program — and browse ratings and reviews submitted by other users and program participants.

To participate in GoSolar.LA, interested property owners can sign up to request a free solar assessment at GoSolar.LA/free-assessment. Alternatively they can call (310) 893-3100 to speak with a solar professional.

SOLAR REWARDS AND FUNDRAISER PROGRAMS

GoSolar.LA seeks to increase public awareness about solar energy and engage neighborhood communities with local incentives. The program's low prices reflect economies of scale achieved by streamlining the installation process with group projects.

Open Neighborhoods and participating GoSolar.LA contractors are offering rewards and incentive programs to encourage multiple participants to install solar within a single neighborhood. GoSolar.LA rewards programs benefit schools and non-profits, green businesses, and clean energy advocates who assist in referring new solar projects into the program.

More information is available at GoSolar.LA/rewards.

“We are pleased to see the level of commitment that participating GoSolar.LA contractors have demonstrated to making solar energy more affordable for property owners in greater Los Angeles. The competitive prices being offered, high level of transparency, and diverse range of financing options is unprecedented,” said Open Neighborhoods President James Brennan.
