A 6,000 square foot restaurant, fresh food, live music, patio seating and a full bar should be opening in the first quarter of 2011, according to Katherine Spiers of Echo Park Patch.

Restaurateur Tony Yanow has been working to opening Mohawk Bend, site of the old Ramona Theater, for about 18 months already so there's no firm date. The theater has been boarded up for years.

Spiers reports there are some neighbors who are worried about public drunkeness and parking, but quotes no one excecpt Nicole Daddio, owner of the wine bar City Sip, which is across the street.

"The more the merrier–people coming to Echo Park for nightlife is great," she said.

Echo Park Life has protested many projects being proposed in the Echo Park area because of size, scale, parking and aestetchics.

Yanow re-opened Tony's Darts Away, a Burbank bar that sports a vegan menulast year. He was once the head of music.com, which despite the name has never reached its potential.
