Celebrated Peruvian chef to open new place on Echo Park Ave.

Mario Orellana of Lazy Ox Canteen and Mo-Chica (a Jonathan Gold fave) and Jason Michaud of Silver Lake's restaurant Local are planning to open a restaurant in the Phoenix Bakery space across from the Allston Yacht Club in Echo Park, according to Jessica Gelt of LATimes.com.

Red Hill was described as a "neo-American diner" that would serve "urban American" fare when it opens in the summer.

Will Mohawk Bend open first? We'll see.

They also plan to open Chimu in the Grand Central Market and serve traditional Peruvian food.
