The sale is just one event in a busy April for our favorite bookstore (and cafe) - Storeis, 1716 Sunset Blvd. From the April email blast:


• Sunday, April 10, 2pm: KRISTIN HERSH, reading from her memoir “RAT GIRL” We are thrilled to have one of the finest rock chicks and creative souls of our time, Kristin Hersh from Throwing Muses. “Rat Girl” isn’t just another story about dive bars, cheap beer and broken guitar strings, it chronicles a pivotal year in Hersh’s life where she has to come to terms with manic depression and creative aspirations.
• April 16, 7pm: NEXT WORDS reading series presented by School of Critical Studies at California
Institute of the Arts MFA graduating class.
• April 17, 4pm: Neela Vaswani, “YOU HAVE GIVEN ME A COUNTRY” -- mixed-genre exploration of what
it means to be bicultural. Combining memoir, history, and fiction, the book follows the paths of the author’s Irish-Catholic mother and Sindhi-Indian father and the biracial child they create.
• April 21,, 7pm: HOMO-CENTRIC – a monthly reading for LGBTQ writers curated by Hank Henderson. This month, featured guest is Los Angeles taste-maker PAUL V. whose blog BORN THIS WAY http://borngaybornthisway.blogspot.com/  was voted “Best Google Blog". A photo/essay project for gay adults (of all genders) to submit childhood pictures and stories (roughly ages 2 to 12), reflecting memories & early beginnings of their innate LGBTQ selves.
• April 23, 4pm: JASON O. SILVA, “THE TALE OF EDGAR TRUNK: Book 1”
For fans of Lemony Snicket, The Harry Potter series and The Chronicles of Narnia.
• April 23, 8pm: Poetry night curated by Rafael Alvarado
• April 24, 3pm – 7pm: CRAFTERNOON – an adult craft session hosted by Marcus Kuiland-Nazario who takes the art of crafting and makes it an event. The theme is resurrection - expect zombies, Easter eggs, construction paper, glue, glitter, and some mischievous humor. For the young and mischievous at heart who need to do something with those idle hands.
• April 28, 7pm: NATHAN LARSON, The Dewey Decimal System Former member of the Washington DC indie band, SHUDDER TO THINK, the new chapter for music composer Nathan Larson is as novelist with his debut book, THE DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM” -- “The perfect blend of dystopia and the hard-boiled shamus.” Also reading, the irrepressible Joseph Mattson.
• April 29, 8pm: Music performance from NIRVANA UK featuring Patrick Campbell-Lyons, author of “PSYCHEDELIC DAYS” – a chronicle of his years with his progressive- psychedelic band and London’s 1960s music scene.
• April 30, 7:30pm: Music on the patio with CANDY PANTS and MIKE & MATT. Think of CANDY PANTS as the contemporary version of Carole King and Gerry Goffin if the Brill Building was at Sunset Blvd and Echo Park Avenue.
