Checking for lead in Echo Park jewelry

The watchdogs at California Watch will be in Echo Park today to screen jewelry for lead. The online investigative reporting group based in NoCal published a story that uncovered five violations in 16 months by a national company.

Paint and Graffiti store paints the town red in Echo Park

The Montana Store comes to Echo Park, with everything from paint to pencils.Montana Cans is a designer spray-paint brand from Germany. It does sound cool.

A company from Provo, Utah, is using the memory of Echo Park's glory days as the home to old Hollywood to sell paper:-

Masa of Echo Park makes you come back for more

The first thing the waitresses at Masa tell you is that they are famous for the cornmeal crust, Chicago-style deep dish pizza.

Then they let you know that you should order ahead because it takes 45 minutes to prepare.

So that almost guarantees you'll be back for more.

But on that first visit whatever you do, get the banana and chocolate bread pudding. A delicacy and enough for two.
