We know we need good clinics and hospitals staffed by skilled professionals to keep us healthy and and treat us when we're not. But it takes a lot more than that. SCOTUS dismisses Prop 8; California can resume same-sex marriages. KPCC asks: How does decision affect you?

The Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down the Defense of Marriage Act as unconstitutional and dismissed Prop 8 on standing, meaning same-sex marriages can resume in California.

KPCC: Finalists for LA City Council's 13th District get backing from former opponents

The two men hoping to succeed Councilman Eric Garcetti in the Thirteenth District are picking up support from their former opponents in the March 5 primary. 

Mitch O'Farrell, a former Garcetti aide, placed first in the primary with 18 percent of the vote. He was endorsed Monday by two former candidates — Sam Kbushyan and Josh Post. Kbushyan finished third in the race thanks to strong support from the district's Armenian community.
