Event Description

Come to World City and explore the culture and ancestry of the Tsimshian tribes of the Northwest Coast of North America with Git-Hoan Dancers (The People of the Salmon)! They perform with stunning, hand-carved masks, authentic skin and wood drums, and colorful hand-made regalia emblazoned with symbols of their culture. To make things more exciting, Git-Hoan Dancers will bring Tsimshian legendary stories to life through dance and the use of mechanical devices that animate the heads of characters such as Raven and Whale to dramatically heighten their performances at World City.

To celebrate our 10th Anniversary Season, World City audiences will receive a World City Explorer Passport, distributed at each performance. Part geo-quest, part travel journal, collect stamps from each World City and fill in the travel journal with your wonderful memories! (While supplies last)

All World City events are FREE and open to the public. For more information, visit musiccenter.org/worldcity or call (213) 972-4396.
