"It's magic! Linda spins magic!"
So exclaimed a woman as she listened to the mistress of Tall Tales spin her web around a spellbound audience. Well we located that "teller of tales" and lured her here. Yeah!!!
In our next show, The Tall Tale Man, Linda King Pruitt shares family stories that have been told by her grandfather and retold to her by her father..... stories about a father who had the gift of storytelling…but not communicating...about a girl who grew up listening, but not hearing.....about discovery.....tales that tell Truths. "Words from the heart."
Linda King Pruitt was raised on Tall Tales from her dad, folk and fairytales from her mother, Native American tales from her Choctaw grandmother, and Jack Tales from her father’s mother. A storyteller and "storyteacher" since 1994, Linda has performed and taught storytelling workshops across the U.S and has toured Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands as a storyteller with Academic Arrangements Abroad. Linda is a member of South Coast Storytellers Guild, The National Storytelling Network and is a resident artist with Fullerton's Muckenthaler Cultural Center.
Its hard to believe that our 6th Storytelling Series is near it's end! Well......we are going out with a bang, and you will definitely not want to miss this final Storytelling Concert at the Institute of Musical Arts' 2015-2016 season. On Saturday, May 21, 2016, we are truly honored to present Storyteller Linda King Pruitt's one-woman show: "The Tall Tale Man".
You can buy tickets online: https://talltaleman.eventbrite.com/, or by visiting our website:http://www.imalosangeles.com/. You may also pay by cash, check or credit card, at the IMA office, while supplies last. As is our custom at the Institute of Musical Arts, a catered reception will follow the performance.
Ours is a small, intimate theater, and seating for our last show is limited. So please do not delay in purchasing your tickets. Tickets for the performance are $20.00. For additional information call 323-300-6578.
