Echo Park resident Pi Jacobs is a member of the one-and-only Silverlake Chorus, most recently seen at the Win Awards and doing backing vocals for The Lonely Island's new single 'I Just Had Sex', aired on SNL as a digital short. On her own, Pi (yep, her real name) has put out five albums of her own material and garnered some impressive cred, like seeing her tunes appearing in a variety of MTV shows and a partnership with producer/engineer Randy Wine who's worked with, like, U2 and Aretha Franklin.

While Pi has played at clubs all over greater LA like Genghis Cohen and The Coffee Gallery Backstage, and was a fixture at the sadly missed Tangier, she's never played at her backyard French restaurant, Taix. Voted one of the top five places to watch the Lakers by the LA Times, on Tuesday, February 22nd Taix will be buzzing for a purple-and-gold game, with Pi hitting the stage immediately afterward.

She'll be trading songs with an old pal who has frequently joined her onstage in LA, though he is now based in New York City. Daryl Shawn is a guitarist who incorporates flamenco, African and jazz stylings into his own compositions and eclectic choice of cover tunes, from Elvis to Jawbox. Fans of Bill Frisell, Tommy Emmanuel and Rodrigo y Gabriela will find much to enjoy.

Taix is happy to put on music without a cover charge, winning another honor from the Times as "Best Free Music Venue". Pi and Daryl will begin the music on the 22nd at 10:00 pm, or as soon as the last ball shoots through the net.
